As you stroll through the interiors of the castle, you step into the forgotten world of old Romanian nobility. The atmosphere is romantically charged. The ballroom features murals on Córdoba leather, depicting the Cantacuzino family tree as well as a unique collection of heraldic coats of arms from noble families related to the Cantacuzinos. On the second floor, visitors will find an art gallery open year-round with rotating art exhibitions. So far, visitors have been able to see works by Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Vincent van Gogh, Henri Matisse, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, as well as exhibitions by other local and international artists. From May 2022 to October 2022, the castle showcases replicas of over 40 functional machines designed by Leonardo da Vinci in an extraordinary world-class exhibition. High-quality reproductions of sketches from the notebooks of the great Renaissance genius are also displayed.
In the castle park, visitors can discover sculptures by over 100 Romanian sculptors. Various landscape design elements, such as two fountains and an artificial cave, resemble those found in major European royal palaces. In the summer, the castle park, with a zip line and many other activities, becomes a paradise for children.
The year-round French restaurant, Canta Cuisine, offers exquisite French dishes, delicious desserts, and excellent patisserie. The wine list features a selection of the best Romanian and European wines. Currently, only two accommodations are available at the castle. Special events such as truffle hunting and wine tastings are listed on the website.
Located just 100 km from Bucharest Henri Coanda Airport and about 40 km from the beautiful city of Brașov (Kronstadt), Cantacuzino Castle offers an unforgettable travel experience.
