Prahova is a Romanian county in the Wallachia region, with the county seat in Ploiești. It is named after the Prahova River, and its common abbreviation and vehicle registration plate are PH. The Prahova county borders Brașov county to the north, Buzău county to the east, Ialomița and Ilfov counties to the south, and Dâmbovița county to the west.
