Galati | Tonight, about an hour ago 😍😍🇷🇴
(12 September 2026)
Photos of the Faleza (waterfront promenade) in Galati taken tonight around 8 p.m. In Galati, daytime temperatures of 28 to 32 degrees are still normal, usually under blue skies. Even in the evening, with temperatures around 18 to 20 degrees (at midnight), you can still easily go for a walk in summer clothes and enjoy the evening and the outdoor seating at restaurants and cafes.
Galati is located in southeastern Romania; the city borders both the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. It lies directly on the Danube (up to 800 meters wide), where the Danube Delta begins. The city is on the same latitude as Venice, which, along with its proximity to the Black Sea, explains the summer-like weather in September and usually well into October.
Galati is likely the sixth to tenth largest city in Romania, with a population of approximately 220,000 to 250,000.

Nature Tours in Romania: The Carpathians, Wildlife & the Danube Delta
The Carpathians are among Romania’s most distinctive natural regions. The Southern Carpathians, in particular, with the Făgăraș Mountains, are impressive for their high-mountain landscapes, mountain lakes, and forests. This is also where Romania’s highest peak, Moldoveanu, stands at 2,544 m.
Brown bears, wolves, lynx, and red deer inhabit the area around Zarnesti and the Piatra Craiului Massif. From special observation huts, you can see the bears up close—a truly spine-tingling experience.
The Danube Delta is a completely different natural wonder: it has been designated a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site and is home to over 300 different bird species. Add to that the mysterious Letea Forest with its sand dunes and wild horses.
Best time to visit:
• Bear watching: May – October
• Danube Delta: April – September
• Hiking in the Carpathians: May – September
Away from the classic sights, a completely different Romania awaits.

Yesterday / Last Night | A Look Back at the Beer Festival in Kleinschelken / Seica Mica | Highlights 😍😍🇷🇴
(2 August 2026)
A cold half-liter (0.5 liter) of beer for 10 lei (approx. 1.95 euros), delicious food, German music (Schlager, folk songs, a bit of “disco”), and lots and lots of good vibes… that’s what we had yesterday evening / last night at the 1st Beer Festival in Kleinschelken in Sibiu County.
Many, many Transylvanian Saxons, as well as local residents, attended the festival. German felt more prevalent than Romanian, and the courtyard of the fortified church was the perfect location 🥰

Romania: Europe’s Best-Kept Secret for Culture and Culinary Delights 🇷🇴🍷
(22 March 2026)
A recent travel report by tz München describes Romania, particularly Transylvania, as one of Europe’s most authentic cultural destinations. In addition to the well-known fortified churches, medieval towns, and unspoiled landscapes, the regional cuisine and hospitality are increasingly becoming the focus of interest for international visitors.
Highlights include:
• the unique blend of cultural landscape and culinary tradition
• regional specialties made from local products
• family-run guesthouses and inns offering a high degree of authenticity
• a growing interest among guests from the DACH region in genuine, regional culinary culture
This presents a major opportunity, particularly for the network of German-speaking hospitality businesses in Romania: Transylvania is increasingly positioning itself as a destination for in-depth cultural, nature, and culinary tours.
👉 #Conclusion: Romania is emerging as an attractive stage for hosts who prioritize regional quality, tradition, and a personal atmosphere—exactly what many guests from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland are looking for today.
🏰🔔🇷🇴🇪🇺Transylvania – One of Europe’s Most Beautiful Cultural Landscapes
(17 March 2026)
In Transylvania, medieval history and the majestic nature of the Carpathians come together in a unique way.
An impressive castle overlooking the Burzenland region and a typical Transylvanian village with a fortified church tell the story of centuries of European multicultural
history, shaped by Transylvanian Saxons, Hungarians, and Romanians.
This landscape represents the authentic, still undiscovered Europe.
❓Who recognizes these two places in Transylvania?
Write in the comments which castle and which fortified church they are.

🌍 Romania 2025: 2.5 million international guests
(20 February 2026)
Security as a strategic competitive advantage
Romania is evolving from an “emerging destination market” to a stable European growth destination.
Around 2.5 million international visitors chose Romania in 2025 – including a significant proportion of digital bookings via alternative accommodation platforms.
The foundation for this growth is multidimensional:
• Natural assets (Carpathian Mountains, Danube Delta, Black Sea)
• Historical and cultural heritage
• Urban city break market
• Attractive price-performance ratio
• High internal security and geopolitical stability
Security as a driver of tourism
In a globally volatile environment, security is no longer a hygiene factor – it is a decisive differentiation parameter in destination marketing.
Romania is increasingly positioning itself as:
• A politically stable EU member
• A safe urban space
• A low-risk travel market
• A reliable investment location
International travelers are sensitive to risk profiles. Destinations with a low perceived threat level are gaining market share. Romania is structurally benefiting from this development.
Market performance in 2025
• Germany remains the core market with the highest volume.
• Italy confirms high structural demand.
• Israel shows resilience despite geopolitical pressures – declines are exogenous, not structural.
• The US and UK underscore increasing transatlantic visibility.
• Regional markets ensure basic capacity utilization and short-haul momentum.
The statistical reality check
Official accommodation statistics only reflect the traditional hotel segment.
The growing share of digital short-term rentals (Airbnb, Booking Apartments) leads to systematic underreporting.
Taking this 20% segment into account, the real figure is …
